This past weekend, during my spring break, my family had their annual Boucherie (Which, according to the Cajun Dictionary, means a gathering of several families who contribute meat to be slaughtered. Each family takes home their share of the slaughter for the coming months, yadda yadda). It was a giant get together at my grandparent's pond of my relatives and their relatives and lots of people I had never met before. There was food everywhere, dirty, muddy kids and lots of liquor. I have actually never been to one before, so Ryan and I piled into my car and drove the twelve hours to Louisiana for a few days. (And by drove, I mean Ryan drove a lot and I slept a lot)
So here's a little blog full of memories, Ryan and I passed the camera back and forth throughout the whole trip, so this post is a little bit of both of us.
p.s. this whole trip was shot with my 28 1.8, damn I have a huge crush on this lens

In conclusion, I want to spend my whole life traveling the world with Ryan, he is the best sidekick and lover that I could ever, ever ask for, and this trip to see my family with him meant the absolute world to me.
go have an adventure

ReplyDeleteI found your blog a week or two ago and keep coming back to catch up on your archives, and see what new wonderful pictures you've been creating! I am a newbie photographer (less than a year). I bought a second-hand Nikon D60 and I was wondering if you can tell me if that lens would work with my camera? And then I will go find it. Enjoyed this post -- your talent adds such a magical quality to chronicling a family reunion/get-together.
ReplyDeleteLexi, everything about this post was so beautiful, I can't even explain. You and Ryan are the best.
